HAWKWIND Quark Strangeness And Charm (1977 UK 18-page A4 tour programme for the Hawks' 1977/8 tour, featuring plenty of colour and black & white photographs of the group, individual band member biographies and two poems by Robert Calvert. Thiswas the final tour before they briefly mutated into the Hawklords before returning back to home planet again, but by then without Bob Calvert as a member, who they had left behind somewhere on the tour after he became the persona that he portrayed onstage almost permanently. A brilliant lyricist who suffered from bipolar disorder which often made his behaviour erratic, he was driven and creative until the end, suffering a heart attack at just forty three years of age and leaving this world far too soon. One of the poems in this tour programme, 'Circle Line', won a Capital Radio poetry competition in 1975. He was the 'Strangeness' to Brock's 'Quark', to be sure, but the good ship Hawkwind would have been a lot poorer without his input. This one owner copy has been fabulously well-kept, clearly stored away for many years with care, the cover looks nearly as good as new from the show with the gorgeous textured pages inside remaining pristine. This example also includes a ticket stub for the 18th September show at the Apollo in Glasgow - an outstanding example!)
