ROLLING STONES 12 x 5 (Twelve x Five) (Mega rare Decca UK custom label test pressing. The second US album pressed in UK by Decca for export to the US, this is the second pressing with matrix ending '-2'. This mono pressing has a deepgroove label, as evidenced by the circumferential ridge close to the label perimeter. Being an original '60s test pressing this record has the period correct blue & silver test pressing label, the perimeter band around the edge has silver radial lines which confirm the RPM speed under a strobe light. Both labels are annotated in black ink with matrix & catalogue numbers and omits the artist & title. The matrices are machine-stamped ARL-6493-2A and ARL-6494-2A. The vinyl has some noticeable surface marks but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, with just a little background and a few light clicks but without any skips. This is a heavy, solid slab of a record, as you would expect for an original 1960s Decca pressing, and plays very well. Housed in the original poly-lined company sleeve, with handwritten matrix and catalogue number. It's near impossible to find test pressings for original Stones albums so this is one we're very pleased to offer for sale…!)
