OASIS Publishing Demo (Superb 4-track Demo tape pressed as part of the process of gaining a publishing deal which consisted of 2 bidders namely Sony & EMI. The 4 tracks are an unreleased track Strange Thing [Recorded in rehearsal], Columbia [Demo], Rock 'N' Roll Star [In Rehearsal] & Live Forever [Demo Version] and are housed in a generic EMI publishing sleeve with hand written details on the cassette shell and sleeve. Though hand written this is a 100% genuine item and we arepleased to be able to offer for sale this stunning piece of musical history) [More details available In More Info section]

MORE BACKGROUND

Recorded as part of the negotiation process of gaining a world wide publishing deal for Noel the 2 parties involved who were eager to sign were EMI and Sony and the offers were very similar so in typical Noel style he said that the first company to obtain a brown Rolls Royce from the Manchester area would get his signature which Sony promptly delivered the next day. The rest is history!

There are other artists on this tape which are not noted on the sleeve and as is typical of publishing items like this, the Oasis tracks would have been recorded over tracks that had since been finished with. If there is ever an item that should be described as for internal record company or publishing use only then this it.

TRACK DETAILS

The unreleased track Strange Thing is decribed as 'heavy blues guitar riffing' with a hint of a style reminiscent of the Stone Roses Love Spreads and contains in typical Noel style the following lyric:- which is obviously a nod to the Rolling Stones.

Overall it is a chance to hear the band in a raw and unpolished form in demo and rehearsal, with a rare opportunity to hear an unreleased song in one of their earliest periods from arguably the most influential rock band of the last 15 years. The sound quality is excellent and is a fabulous example of a major band learning their craft.
