MONOCHROME SET The Lost Weekend (2009 issue UK 16-track digitally remastered CD album - The Monochrome Set defined themselves in the late 70s and 80s as Englands wittiest troubadours, avoiding the sombre overtones of post-punk by penning songs that had a clean 60s pop sensibility, allied to vocalist and guitarist Bids sandpaper-dry reflections on life and love. Re-released for the first time on CD in the UK, 'The Lost Weekend' documents the bands time at Blanco y Negro Records, the mini-major set up by Mike Alway [Cherry Red] and Geoff Travis [Rough Trade]. Features 5 Bonus Recordings including the Saloon Bar mix of 'Wallflower' and b-sides [taken from the albums' 2 singles 'Jacobs Ladder' & 'Wallflower']: 'Andiamo', 'Big Ben Bongo', 'Le Boom Boom' and 'Yo HoHo'. Complete with a picture booklet containing selection of colour photography from the period.)
