All recordings are historic originals dating from 1951 to 1954 and include first takes of Blue Room and Bags' Groove. Sonny Rollins, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Milt Jackson and Art Blakey all feature, among others. The gatefold pasted picture sleeve is superb and complete with a 4-page illustrated Japanese text inner, the vinyl flawless SMJ-9542~3)
