YUSEF LATEEF Live At Pep's (1965 UK 7-track stereo LP recorded live at Pep's Musical Lounge in Philadelphia in June the previous year. Yusef goes far out playing a mixture of tenor sax, oboe, argol & shannas, backed with Richard Williams [trumpet], Mike Nock [piano], Ernie Farrow [bass] & James Black [drums]. All killer no filler, but particularly biting are the Lateef originals 'Sister Mamie' & 'Slippin & Slidin'. The front laminated flipback picture sleeve shows minimal shelfwear &the vinyl looks barely played CSD3547)
