RICO Man From Wareika (2011 Japanese 18-track SHM-CD album [Super High Material CD - playable on all CD players] album, Recorded at both Joe Gibbs' and Randy's studios and utilising some of Jamaica's biggest artists, Man From Wareika was originally released in 1977. Rico stamped his mark on reggae by creating an album which didn't follow the current trends but, in the spirit of Jamaican music, went beyond to find a new sound to describe his roots. The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.
