Ascenseur Pour L'échafaud - 2 obi-strips

MILES DAVIS QUINTET Ascenseur Pour L'échafaud (1977 Japanese issue of the 1958 10-track LP featuring music from the soundtrack of the Louis Malle film. Although credited to the Quintet, this was pretty much a solo Miles project, recorded on December 4th 1957 in Paris. Using a compositional technique of his here for the first time, that of giving the band members more direction than specific parts for the score, he painstakingly made sure that the music fit the mood of the film at any one time. A missing masterpiece, the picture sleeve on this copy reproduces the original album artwork, with 'My Jazz Life' obi-strip and 'Best 100 In History' obi-strip SFX-10546(M))
