STEPPENWOLF Steppenwolf (Debut 1968 UK 11-track mono LP on the black RCA 'red spot' label, featuring the classic, Born To Be Wild, which coined the name for an entire genre with the line "heavy metal thunder". Other highlights include aheavy version of Hootchie Kootchie Man & a pounding tour-de-force cover of Hoyt Axton's anti-drug, 'The Pusher'. The front laminated picture sleeve is historically tape reinforced at each closed edge, & otherwise shows little wear with age, with the white surround still clear as daylight. The vinyl appears near mint & as clean as the day it was pressed, with just the very lightest evidence of play. The first copy we've ever stocked in fact! RD-7974)
