MILES DAVIS On The Corner (1972 US 4-track stereo LP on the red & orange 'six eye' Columbia label with machine stamped matrices in the run-offs ending '1A'. The album draws in influences from Indian & African music to James Brown & even Stockhausen, with outrageous mixing techniques, heavy bass grooves, wah wah, breaks, sitar, tape edits, courtesy of the masterful Teo Macero, & much more. Black Satin in particular is especially ahead of the game, & everyone from 23 Skidoo & Material in the eighties & Photek & Plug in the nineties drew influence from this incredible record. The gatefold sleeve [beautiful Corky McCoy cover painting] shows a little fading & just some mild beginnings of paper splitting around the edge, whilst the vinyl is Excellent with minimal sign of play.
