THELONIOUS MONK Quintets (Rare 1961 UK 7-track mono LP on Esquire with 'RVG' etched in the run-outs, recorded on May 11, 1954 at the house of Rudy Van Gelder's parents in Hackensack, New Jersey & on November 13, 1953 at the WOR Studios, NYC. Look out for star players Sonny Rollins & Art Blakey on either dates! Comes housed in a unique front laminated flipback picture sleeve for the British market. Obtained from a one previous owner collection, the sleeve [VG+] remains nice & clean forits age with no writing. There is a minor crease in the lower left corner & just a tiny thumnail split in the paper's top edge. The heavyweight vinyl is clean & in Excellent condition with wonderful sound clarity, showing the very lightest few cosmetic signs of play only. Recommended)
