TOM SCOTT WITH THE CALIFORNIA DREAMERS The Honeysuckle Breeze (Rare 1967 US first press 10-track stereo LP, the saxophonist's debut for Impulse! on the original black rim label with 'Van Gelder' stamp in the run-outs. Includes groovy covers ofThe Beatles' 'She's Leaving Home', John Coltrane's 'Naima' & Donovan's 'Mellow Yellow', with dreamy overtones reminiscent of Mamas & Papas, Free Design & the 5th Dimension, as well as psych touches courtesy of Bill Plummer on sitar. Pushing the price in recent years, it also includes a cover of Jefferson Airplane's 'Today', containing the famous horn sample to Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s classic rap track 'T.R.O.Y.'! The gatefold pasted sleeve is heavy duty & front laminated & appears Near Mint with few signs of its age. The vinyl is clean & in Excellent condition with just a few faint paper hairlines not affecting play AS-9163)
