EDGAR ALLAN POE Tales Of Terror (You know those things that sort
of 'made it' but didn't stick around too long ? Eight Track cartridges,
CDV, Betamax, and the like ? Well, this is one of those historic
curiosities. A rare 1959 UK 15-track monoLP of Edgar Allan Poe
stories, read for you by Nelson Olmsted. Not only is it on the rare gold
print 'deep groove' red 'Top Rank / Vanguard' label, but it also
contains no less than ninety five minutes of audio. How is this
possible, you ask ? Well, this curiosity bills itself as the first ever 16
2/3 RPM Long Playing Recording. That's right, half normal 33RPM
speed. It kind of makes any attempt to describe condition academic
as you will be unlikely to be able to play it, although you could at
33RPM & halve the speed of the audio using tape or a computer, but I
digress. The sleeve itself is in nice condition with minimal shelfwear &
just a bit of laminate split at the opening. The vinyl shows a few
surface hairlines but none that would affect play, although it's possible
that an odd click might be heard in places. Still, you can't play it
anyway, so why worry ? A very odd gem in very nice condition. Not
mint, but not too shabby either)
