GENTLE GIANT Acquiring The Taste (UK 224-page hardback book
written by Paul Stump, the story of one of the most enduring bands of
the British progressive rock movement, based around the Shulman
brothers, the band quickly acquired a large cult following the world
over, concert tours in Europe & America became ever more grandiose
and elaborate - and then along came punk, as with many of the bands
that were seemingly killed off by the new wave revolution of 1976/77,
Gentle Giant's musichas endured over time & new generations are as
entranced by their intricate sound as were audiences of 30 years ago,

vinyl LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label and produced by Tony
Visconti, front laminated single pocket picture sleeve variant with
lyrics printed on the reverse and with a UK poly-lined swirl inner.
The sleeve displays some light general wear along the top open

marks and the vinyl looks barely played. A nice example and only
the second copy we have ever had)

GENTLE GIANT Acquiring The Taste (Rare 1971 UK first press
8-track vinyl LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label - This album took the
band into more experimental & darker areas but is still their own
recognisable sound - a rich blend of hard rock & orchestration -
with hints of influences from King Crimson and Van Der Graaf
Generator. Complete with the poly-lined 'swirl' inner and lyrics
printed across the inside, the gatefold picture sleeve has some
light shelfwear scuffing to the edges / corners while also
displays some spots of age discolouration but its pretty damn
good considering it was never laminated. With just a few light
signs of play visible, the vinyl remains in fantastic EX condition
for its FIFTY years. Now hard to find in any condition!)

GENTLE GIANT Double Press Pack (Rare Late 70's set of 2 official
press packs for 1976's Live album Playing The Fool and 1977's The
Missing Piece. Each press release is presented on Capitol printed paper,
providing biographies on the band's history and musical development -
a key factor with Gentle Giant who epitomised musical evolution,
multi-instrumentalism and frequently explored new directions, also
including key details about the individual albums. Featuring 10-pages of
information in total, each press pack also comes with magazine articles
on the band around the time of each release making for a great,
informative read about the band's reception as it happened at the
time! Also included are 2 superb original 10"x 8" black and white
publicity photographs: 1 of which is a classic shot of the band leaning
over a rail in 1976, the other being a super and seldom seen close-up
image of the full band shot a year or so later showing how the
hair-cuts were getting shorter and the floral shirts were being ditched
for duffle coats and shades! This complete set is housed in a custom
picture/band logo printed textured outer folder [which notably features
artwork based on the 'Interview' album] with a small embossed Capitol
logo on the inner flap. The outer folder shows only light discolouration
due to age but the package is otherwise in near mint condition
throughout - a scarce item and a sheer delight for any 'Giant' fan,
acknowledging a renowned live record and yet another brilliant studio
album by one of prog rock's most talented, unsung and eclectic!)
