The vinyl too, whilst not mint, shows just a couple of surface scuffs after over fifty years. Upon playtesting, the clarity is still held in those ancient grooves & the disc plays cleanly with minimal distortion & just a little light surface noise evident in some quiet passages. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, the session saw Mobley accompanied by Curtis Fuller on trombone, Lee Morgan on Trumpet, McCoy Tyner on Piano, Bob Cranshaw on Bass & Billy Higgins on Drums - each a star in their own right - and is now rightly very highly regarded, although it sold few copies atthe time, making nice copies [or any copies at all] very difficult to find over forty years later. Speaking of nice copies ... this one not only has perfect vinyl, but the sleeve too shows just a little light corner scuffing where the shrink has broken [!].
