HARDIN & YORK Can’t Keep A Good Man Down (2021 UK
limited edition SIX CD album set - After independently leaving
The Spencer Davis Group in late 1968, organist & singer Eddie
Hardin and drummer Pete York reunited a few months later to
work asthat most intriguing of late Sixties rock music concepts:
the power duo. Self-described as 'the world's smallest big band',
their two-man brand of rock, blues, jazz and soul was hugely
popular on the Continent. They had such a following in Germany
that one show was surreptitiously taped, becoming one of the
earliest European vinyl bootlegs when it was sneaked out in
1970. That live set is included here, together with further live
performances [including a 1972 show for the BBC now gaining
its first-ever commercial release], their trio of 1969-71 albums,
various studio out-takes and even a non-UK 1974 reunion LP
that was recorded with former Taste bassist Charlie McCracken.
Complete with a 24-page booklet with rare photos & a new 4000
word essay, all six discs are UNPLAYED housed within the
sealed clamshell picture box CRSEGBOX089)

drummer Pete York had first played together in the second incarnation

highly unique duo utilising powerful Hammond Organ work and
percussion to record a series of wonderful albums in the Progressive /
Jazz Rock vein. 'The World's Smallest Big Band' was their second
album and featured recordings made at Olympic Studios and material
recorded live at De Lane Lea studios in front of a small audience. This
2008 expanded edition features 8 Bonus Recordings
including 'Everyone I Know', 'Cowboy', 'If I Could Join Them', 'David
Difficult', 'Tomorrow Today', 'Candlelight', 'Little Miss Blue' & 'Can't

EDDIE HARDIN & PETER YORK Tomorrow Today (1969 UK 9-track LP,
front laminated gatefold picture sleeve. A great proggy type long
player from the duo who had both spent time performing with the
Spencer Davis Group, ably assited by a team of crack UK session
players [Herbie Flowers, Rex Morrissey, Mel Thorpe]. The sleeve
shows very little wear, and the vinyl retains a wonderful deep sheen
and looks barely played SBLL125)
