JETHRO TULL This Was (1971 Japanese 10-track LP on the tan
'steamboat' label manufactured by Warner Pioneer, housed in a
special silk gatefold pasted picture sleeve complete with the
Japanese/lyric insert & the rare as hen's teeth, 'Rock Age'
shaped picture obi. The record is still housed in the original 'Now
Rock Age' advertising inner with a full colour series catalogue
pictorial. The packaging is Excellent with minimal shelf wear &
the all important obi-strip is fully intact & as vibrant & colourful
as when it was first pressed. There is a small amount of creases
at the top of the obi & its condition is otherwise excellent. The
vinyl has a deep sheen both sides & graded excellent, with a few
cosmetic surface scuffs not affecting play. Only the second
original stock copy for this title with the obi! we have ever had

JETHRO TULL This Was (Very Hard To Find 1971 Japanese
Debut promotional sample 10-track LP with unique blue &
silver labels, housed in a deluxe gatefold picture sleeve
complete with the impossibly rare 'Rock-Age' shaped obi-strip
& Japanese/lyric insert. Due to the fragile nature of the obi &
its shape, this is the part that's the most difficult to find & is
often torn & thrown away, as was the nature of the item, this
part was never intended for keepsake. This collector's copy is
COMPLETE. This very rare piece of paper is in Excellent
condition. On close inspection, there is a tiny thumbnail tear
to a small right hand edge of the obi-strip [just in the 'wing'
part] & no other blemishes. The rest of the packaging shows
barely any wear with age & the vinyl appears Near Mint with a
stunning deep sheen both sides. A prize, Blue Chip example of
this rare Tull release P-8074R)

Anderson's hive of creativity, starting out life with the
progressive blues rock phase on tracks like Cat's Squirrel and

JETHRO TULL This Was (1968 UK first issue 10-track stereo
LP on the rough textured pink Island label with 'eye' logo &
+A/+B matrices, front laminated gatefold picture sleeve with
internal flipbacks. The sleeve is Very Good with light ring
wear & the usual spot of vertical creasing on the inside due to
the wide spine design. The labels show some spindle wear.
The heavyweight vinyl has been cleaned & we would grade
thedisc G+ due to hairlines & paper scuffs, none of which are
deep enough to effect play, with just a little surface noise
detectable during the quiet sections. A serviceable first press
at a rock bottom price ILPS9085)

the rough textured pink Island label with 'eye' logo, housed in
a wide spined front laminated internal flipback gatefold
picture sleeve. This was one of only three issues in mono, the

to a some notable wear to the opening edge and some
chipping to the laminate on the spine . The internal flipbacks
remain nice & secure & all text is legible with some
annotation messages on the inside gatefold . The heavyweight
vinyl has a few hairlines & the odd light scratch, but the vinyl
remains in VG condition. A respectable copy and collection
filler, offered at a fair price ILP985)
