VIVIAN STANSHALL / biG GRunt biG GRunt (2016 UK limited
edition 4-track 12" vinyl single, picture sleeve. For a brief period
after the demise of the Bonzo's Vivian Stanshall [with the help of
Roger Ruskin Spear, Dennis Cowan, Ian Wallace and Bubs
White] briefly played as biG GRunt - they never released
anything under this name but did record a session for Radio
One's John Peel from which this is taken - it's a brain frying mix
of Beefheartisms, contorted blues and the inimitable Viv'
throughout, great version of '11 Mustachioed Daughters' too.

VIVIAN STANSHALL Lakonga (Rare 1974 UK 'A' label advance
promotional vinyl 7" for the single release, neither track appearing on
the equally rare 'Men Opening Umbrellas Ahead' album, with intact
original four prong centre & also featuring Baba Tunde, WB company
die cut paper sleeve. Interestingly, the label spells his name as
Standshall & the whole thing was produced by John Darnley for Baron
Landskaept - A fitting play on words from this much missed Wizard of

VIVIAN STANSHALL Sir Henry At Rawlinson End (1978 UK press kit
for the 15-track LP from the one and only Viv, on the small Pink Mad
Hatter label with 'distributed by Phonogram' perimeter text, complete
with fold out artwork/lyric poster, embossed picture sleeve. This kit
also includes a one page press sheet by Colson Frame, a one page
biography of Viv that is almost as amusing as the album & a nice 8" x
10" black & white promotional photograph of Viv posing with bicycle in
suitablewatery surroundings. If I told you that the sleeve shows a little
light wear & the vinyl is immaculate, you wouldn't really care, would
you ? This is as essential as bicycle clips when crossing wasp infested
wastelands, but that will only be revealed when you finally find out
that Teddy Boys don't knit CAS1139)

VIVIAN STANSHALL & GARGANTUAN CHUMS Suspicion (2019

for Matt Munro [can you imagine?] and also features backing by
Entwistle & Moon. An almost instant rarity, it remains the only

Moon's only record production and is the first in a series of

VIVIAN STANSHALL Teddy Boys Don't Knit (1981 UK 16-track LP by
the wonderfully demented late & very great Viv, who really should have
been knighted for his services to British Eccentricity, complete with
illustrated lyric inner and picture sleeve with artwork by Viv himself.
Containing the hit single 'Terry Keeps His Clips On', a cautionary tale
based loosely upon his father and the perils of wandering abroad in
Summer with stinging insects lurking ready to pounce upon the
unwary. The Tube is a delightful tune about the joys of parenthood,
Ginger Geezer about his confused teenage years as a posh Ted &
Calypso To Collapso about the mixed benefits of alcohol consumption.
What more could you possibly want from an album ? OK. The sleeve &
vinyl are near mint. Shame on the previous owner, I'd say, but their
loss is your gain CAS1153)
