The band laboured over their eponymous debut album for several months beofre finally releasing it in Europe towards the latter part of 1995. The record was a success, spending several weeks in the Top Ten in most continental countries where it charted. Despite their popularity in Europe & Canada, the album wasn't issued in their native U.S until 1997. Combining their international singles with new tracks, the American 'Backstreet Boys' finally began their rise to U.S. success, with every single becoming a smash hit. The album continued to spin off hits into 1999, including the platinum selling singles; 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back),' & 'All I Have to Give'. The much anticipated follow up, 'Millennium' was released in the summer of 1999, & debuted at number one. Despite the fact that no singles were officially released from the album in the U.S. it was another massive success. Hot on the heels of their previous album stopped producing hits, they issued 'Black & Blue' and hit the road at the end of 2000. After a brief period apart they reunited and released the album 'Never Gone' in the summer of 2005 to be accompanied by another marathon world tour.
