Around the time of their debut single 'Relax,' Frankie orchestrated a massive, intricate marketing campaign with specially designed T-shirts that read 'Relax' and 'Frankie Says...,' that seemed to appear everywhere you looked. Both the single and the accompanying video were banned almost immediately and consequently, the single shot to number one in and sold over a million copies. The follow up, 'Two Tribes,' also entered the charts at number one; it went gold in seven days and stayed at number one for nine weeks, eventually selling over a million copies. 'Welcome to the Pleasuredome', the band's Trevor Horn-produced debut double album, also topped the charts as did the ballad 'The Power of Love'. By the summer of 1987 the band had gone their seperate ways. With a fantastic collection of near perfect pop to choose from, there is no shortage of back catalogue rarities, amazing memorabilia and quality collectibles, all available right here in our specialist Frankie Goes To Hollywood collectors store. |
