A conceptual counterpoint to the utopian One Nation Under A Groove, the record's mission was clear: "to rescue dance music from the blahs." George Clinton and his P-Funk army delivered with a blistering 15-minute version of"(Not Just) Knee Deep", a track that would become one of the band's final hit singles and a cornerstone of hip-hop and funk sampling culture.
