THE KEITH TIPPETT GROUP Dedicated To You, But You Weren't
Listening (Very rare 1971 Australian 7-track LP on the Vertigo 'swirl'
label, also starring Robert Wyatt on drums, housed in a superb Roger
Dean designed gatefold sleeve with 'distributed in Australia' print on
the reverse. The sleeve has a 2" paper split in one of the bottom
edges and just a little ring wear on the back panel, however the spine
is perfectly legible and the inside print unblemished. The vinyl has
been professionallycleaned and has come up looking sparkling. A
lovely near mint vinyl copy and the first Australian copy we've ever
seen!)

THE KEITH TIPPETT GROUP Dedicated To You, But You Weren't
Listening (Very Rare Original 1971 French 1st pressing Vertigo 'spiral
swirl' label vinyl Stereo LP. This was the 29th release on Vertigo [out
of 87] and quite probably one of the rarest &hard to find pressings.
What makes this copy so incredibly rare is it's quite frankly staggering
condition. The sleeve appears MINT with only minor scuffing at the
sleeve opening to betray it's vintage, & the vinyl condition is
astonishinglyMINT with no spindle marks to ever indicate any play. You could search for a
lifetime & not find a copy so superb)

THE KEITH TIPPETT GROUP Dedicated To You, But You Weren't
Listening (2009 UK strictly limited edition 7-track digitally remastered
CD album, originally released on the legendary Vertigo label in 1971
[original copies now fetch a small fortune onthe collectors market];
avant-garde jazz pianist Tippett assembled a powerful band for this
album which offers a challenging mixture of fusion and free jazz,
representing a turning point in the story of jazz fusion. Among the
seven diverse tracks are tangible tunes and jazzy themes embellished
with fiery improvised solos by saxophonist Elton Dean, cornet player
Marc Charig and trombone virtuoso Nick Evans. Tippett’s own
explosive piano playing is driven by a battery of top drummers,
including Soft Machine’s Robert Wyatt and powerhouse
percussionist Bryan Spring. Guitarist Gary Boyle is featured on ‘Black
Horse’, adding the electric element that brought acoustic jazz into the
rock era; presented in sealed & stickered gatefold card sleeve with
detailed, extensive liner notes by respected author and journalist Chris
Welch) ** Limited to 3000 copies
