LAWRENCE BROWN'S ALL-STARS with JOHNNY HODGES Inspired Abandon (Late 60s US issue of the 1965 8-track stereo LP, on a black Impulse label with red rim & rainbow boxed logo & 'Van Gelder' stamped in the run-outs. This was a fine star session from the Ellington splinter group, including the sax-attack of Harold Ashby & Paul Gonsalves. This second press is housed in one of the first batch heavyweight pasted & laminated gatefold sleeves with 'stereo' stickers front & back & ABC/Dunhill inner. The cover is stunning near mint & the vinyl excellent with minimal sign of play AS-89) more... Currently Unavailable - You can request the next copy of this item
LAWRENCE BROWN Slide Trombone (Very rare 1955 US 10-track mono LP, also featuring Sam 'The Man' Taylor, Leroy Lovett, Loyd Trotman, Louis Bellson & more, pasted picture sleeve with artwork by David Stone Martin & tape reinforced edges. There is evidence of a split to the spine & some edge scuffing before the tape reinforcing, which is something that is the norm with this design of sleeve. Other than that, some light wear & minor discolouration to the back, it's actually holding up quite well. The vinyl is astonishing & remains in excellent, near 'as new' condition with just a couple of tiny light surface scuffs visible upon close inspection to show for nearly sixty years - A gem!
