WOODSTOCK 3 Days Of Peace & Music (One of the most astonishing & delightful items to ever pass through my hands & difficult to describe in a way to do it true justice, but here goes ... In 1969 the world witnessed an event that, for a short period of time, seemed to display a new hope to a younger generation raised on the horrors of Korea, Vietnam & the Cuban missile crisis. That was the three day event held at Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York, between August 15th & 18th that year entitled 'The Woodstock Music And Art Fair'. Events at the festival have been documented at great length, the film & soundtrack have been released, so that part is well known. What is less well known is that the organisers produced a fifty four page programme for the event, lovingly crafted in detail & printed on high quality paper stock. What we have here is one of those programmes that, apart from some incredibly minor rubbing to the front & back cover & a little rust staining at the staples, is in astonishing near 'as new' condition. This is NOT a repro, but a 1969 original & the first one that we have ever seen!)

WOODSTOCK Unused One Day Ticket (The Woodstock Music & Art Fair in August 1969 has long since gone down in history as probably the end of the 'Beautiful Scene', which was finally killed off by the events that occurred at the Altamont Festival just four months later. At the time, this event gave new hope to a cold war generation - Three days of peace, love & hope. Events at the festival have been documented at great length, the film & soundtrack have been released, so that part is wellknown. What is on offer here is an original one day ticket for the event, with the Friday Aug 15 1969 portion still attached to the ticket stub. Comes complete with a letter of authenticity in a printed envelope, signed & verified by a former employee of the Boston, Massachusetts plant where these tickets were produced, who confirms the originality of the safety stock paper that was used at this one factory only pre '71, the ticket remains in stunning 'as new' condition.
