PHILLIP UPCHURCH Darkness, Darkness (Scarce original 1972 UK 5-track LP, recorded in 1971, shortly after he departed Cadet Records in Chicago where he served as a prime sideman to both Curtis Mayfield and Jerry Butler. Produced by Tommy LiPuma, Darkness, Darkness is Upchurch's quintessential album, full of laid-back funky grooves. The picture sleeve on this copy shows only the lightest shelfwear & the vinyl is superb - a great copy! ILPS9219)
