Sleeve:
Simply titled 'Rolling Stones', this was their first release in South Africa in 1964.

It is essentially the Stones' second UK LP (No. 2) with three different tracks; 'Little Red Rooster' replaces 'Grown Up Wrong', 'Not Fade Away' instead of 'Under The Boardwalk' plus 'I Wanna Be Your Man' in favour of 'Suzie-Q'.

The front laminated flipback picture sleeve has a full band photo image and title in pink and white lettering, black on reverse.

Both the picture sleeve and title are UNIQUE to this particular South African release which was pressed EXCLUSIVELY in Rhodesia.

The sleeve has an inscription by Andrew Loog Oldham on the rear of the cover with the rare 'blind man' sleeve notes - the association with the blind led this particular text to be removed on later printings.

Sleeve Condition:
The sleeve shows some slight laminate lift to the top left-hand side plus a little to the lower right. There is also some light ringwear to the back cover which has caused just a little fading to the back title print. However, considering the rarity of this unique pressing, the desirability factor is the key here. We have graded the sleeve an honest EX- and believe any serious Stones collector will be on cloud nine when they see this in the flesh!

Rarity:
Since the Stones were virtually unheard of in South Africa in the mid-60s, not many of these pressings were produced, therefore this LP very rarely comes to market.
The album is featured in Hans Pokora's 3001 Record Collector Dreams book in the 'UK Rare Record Covers' section and receives a 5 STAR rating.

Label:
Giant unboxed silver 'Decca' lettering set on a dark red label along with the tracklisting, catalogue number and 'Copyright Reserved...' details. Both sides reveals only very minor spindle wear to indicate play.

Has the following hand-scratched matrices:

Side A: ARL 6619
Side B: ARL 6620

Vinyl Condition:
Pressed on heavyweight vinyl, the record has had very little play during its lifetime and looks exceptionally clean with NO deep marks, groove wear or scratches that impede the sound quality. We grade this NEAR MINT. A beautiful copy!

This is a one of a kind collectors item with alternate tracklisting and a UNIQUE picture sleeve to this copy. It is considered to be one of the RAREST Stones LPs in the world! Surely no Rolling Stones collection is complete without it
