VARIOUS The Complete Motown Singles Vol. 11A: 1971 (Sealed 2008 US limited edition 119-track 5-CD compilation set, covering just the first six months of the year, chock full of those wider-world stories & the great music during a period when the company, too, was undergoing its own reconstruction. While established stars Four Tops & Martha Reeves & the Vandellas were struggling with the company's evolution, new kids the Jackson 5 continued their hot streak, knocking a couple of ballads ['Never Can Say Goodbye' & 'Maybe Tomorrow'] out the park. Presented in card picture sleeves & housed in deluxe packaging resembling a scaled-down 78-rpm-era 'album' complete with a 148-page booklet containing rare photos & track-by-track annotations. Includes a bonus wide-centred vinyl 7" replica for the classic Marvin Gaye single 'What's Going On' backed with 'God Is Love'. This fantastic collector's set remains factory sealed & unopened.
