THE WHISPERTOWN 2000 Swim (2009 UK 11-track CD album - Los Angeles' The Whispertown 2000 is known for their dreamy harmonies, countless hooks and a sound that is both completely modern and nostalgic. At the forefront are the medling voices of Morgan Nagler [vocals, guitar] & Vanesa Corbala [vocals, percussion]. Their fresh vocals are paired with the avant-blues guitar of Tod Wisenbaker [guitar, drums] and the robust bass playing from his brother Casey Wisenbaker [bass, drums]. 'Swim' was recorded by Thom Monohan [Devendra Banhart, Vetiver] and mixed by Shawn Everett and David Rawlings [Old Crow Medicine Show, Robyn Hitchcock]. The songs on the record range from quirky indie-pop on '103,' to the sweet / sad hypnotic harmonies of 'Pushing Oars,' to the California-country on 'Lock and Key' and 'Old Times.' The ballad 'Atlantis' features a four woman choir of Nagler, Corbala, Welch and Jenny Lewis.)
