A Saucerful Of Secrets - 1st - Sample

PINK FLOYD A Saucerful Of Secrets (Rare 1968 UK Factory Sample 7-track mono LP on the Columbia blue & black label, with 'Sold In UK' text & 'Factory Sample' stickered label on Side 2 for review before release. The front laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' flipback sleeve has the Hipgnosis credit & mono 'SX6258' number & is complete with its red tinted company inner. By 1968, stereo issues were being manufactured in greater quantities than mono copies by a ratio of almost 2:1. This great album highlights the sheer psychedelic brilliance of Pink Floyd, & was their final album to feature a Syd Barrett composition. See 'more info' for condition... SX6258)

Sleeve :-

The Hipgnosis sleeve still retains its tight laminate & secure flipbacks, with all text clearly legible, including along the spine. There is just a tiny bit of creasing in the laminate but to all intents & purposes, this is an Excellent copy.

Labels : -

The blue & black Columbia label design shows just a few minor spindle marks by the centre hole to indicate play. The side 2 label features the rare 'Factory Sample' sticker, issued for review prior to commercial release, & shows little wear with age. The matrices read:

Side One: XAX 3633-1
Side Two: XAX 3634-1

Vinyl :-

The vinyl is clean with just a few minor paper scuffs or the odd faint hairline. These do not affect play & condition remains a very tidy, VG+/EX-.

This is the first Factory Sample Mono original we've ever seen.
