THE WHO 1975 European Tour (Now here's a GREAT find! A 1975 UK
12" x 8" tour programme complete with a FULLY
AUTOGRAPHED cut-out sleeve, this concert brochure features
thirty pages of photos, interviews, lyrics, press quotes, a nice colour
centrefold & 'V for Victory' bulldog cover. Obtained from its one
fastidious owner, a serious Who fanatic as a teen, who went to see his
favourite band perform four times on the tour. The UK leg began on 3
October at the New Bingley Hall in Stafford, at which the signatures
were obtained, & ended on 24 October at Wembley Arena. The
original ticket stubs for both shows are included [the Wembley date
ticket being 23 Oct] as well as the stubs for the shows at King's Hall,
Belle Vue & The Granby Halls, Leicester. These tickets are pasted to
the inside back cover, with 'The Who 1975 Tour' sew on patch included
as a bonus. The signatures for all four original group members -
ROGER DALTREY, PETE TOWNSHEND, JOHN ENTWISTLE & KEITH
MOON - can be found on this additional piece of a paper [on the back
of a cut-out LP sleeve], obtained after the first show in Stafford. Each
signature is clearly visible in blue biro. The concert tour was in support
of The Who By Numbers album, & copies of the LP sleeve were hung
in the venue. One of these was 'liberated', with a piece excitably torn
off & used as the paper that was thrusted into the hands of the group.
This paper is worth the price of admission alone, not least of all for the
Entwistle & Keith Moon signatures, & just begs to be framed. The
condition of the programme is Excellent, with merely a little creasing
along the spine from genuinely excitable teenage hands of the
seventies !! A vital piece of British Rock history that would grace any
collection)
