MUDDY WATERS At Newport 1960 (1965 UK 9-track mono LP on the black & gold Chess label, recorded 3rd July 1960 at the famous festival, a breakthrough performance in the history of blues when a jazz audience embraced & applauded this earthy Chicago sound to the fullest & for many in the crowd their first exposure to the music live. Muddy is backed by Otis Spann, James Cotton & guitarist Pat Hare, ripping through some incredible takes of I Got My Brand On You & Got My Mojo Working, front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve is Excellent with rich colours & minimal shelf wear. The vinyl is clean & grades EX/EX- with a few spindle marks & the occasional faint paper scuff not affecting play CRL4513)
