Following the success of Hot Buttered Singles Vol. 1, Ace Records presents the next chapter in Isaac Hayes' seven-inch story with Hot Buttered Singles Volume 2: 1972-1976. This collection spans Hayes' singles released on Stax's Enterprise subsidiary through to his own Hot Buttered Soul imprint on ABC Records, capturing a fertile creative period. The set features eight R&B chart hits including the much-sampled "Hung Up On My Baby," the disco-era groove "Chocolate Chip," Hayes' biggest hit of the era "Joy," and the instrumental "Disco Connection," which reached the UK Top 20 in 1976. All tracks appear in their original single edits. Where original masters were unavailable, Ace's engineers have recreated the 45 edits with precision from the longer album versions.
