label with 'DJ Copy Not For Sale' text, mastered by Larry Nix with
'-L.Nix-' etched in the run-out grooves, pasted picture sleeve with
deletion saw cut. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with all
text legible including the spine and grades Excellent, the vinyl is also
Excellent with one light scuff and otherwise light play only. Evidently
this one previous owner item was purchased way before the 'cult of
Big Star' took hold as it retains two vintage price stickers [they can be
easily removed] showing this copy was not able to be sold for the
princely sum of £4.99, so it was further discounted to £1.99!!! How
times change as it's now rightfully seen as one of the greatest albums
ever made. Highly Recommended ADS-1501)

essential albums from Alex Chilton's band from 1972-73 &
released for the first time in the UK, fully laminated gatefold
picture sleeve. This rare variant lists the track 'What's Going
Ahn' as 'What'. The sleeve is graded VG as there is a sticker
mark/name on the front, a little ringwear and some laminate
rippling/creasing in places, the vinyl easily grades Excellent

BIG STAR #1 Record (Super rare original 1972 US 12-track vinyl LP
on the Memphis-based Ardent label, housed in a full colour back
pasted picture sleeve. A commercial flop on release, this album is now
rightfully regarded as a classic, showcasing the considerable
songwriting talents of Alex Chilton and Chris Bell plus wonderful
production from Ardent Studio's John Fry. This hugely influential
record was released to total indifference at the time [Ardent was
distributed by Stax who didn't know how to market the album]. The
sleeve has a small deletion notch cut in the spine and otherwise shows
very little wear, the vinyl has a couple of minor blemishes/faint
hairlines and is overall in Excellent condition. The albums lack of sales
mean this is a very hard item to find regardless of condition, this is
only the second copy we've ever offered for sale in over thirty years

BIG STAR Radio City (Mega Rare 1974 US first press 12-track LP on
Ardent mastered by Larry Nix with '-L.Nix-' etched in the run-out
grooves, a powerpop masterpiece including the unforgettable Daisy
Glaze & September Gurls, with some of the brightest guitar tones ever
committed to record! As a follow-up to their debut '#1 Record', this
album was similarly critically acclaimed but suffered from the same
poor sales. As a result original copies in any kind of shape are thin on
the ground. The pasted picture sleeve [VG+] has a deletion saw-cut in
the opening & has the original UK import price sticker attached to the
front. There is some minor paper loss in the corners with the odd
paper fracture, inevitable with US jackets of this age. All text is legible
including along the spine. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned &
grades VG+/EX- with some light paper hairlines & mild signs of play.
One of the best "indie" albums ever, before the term... ADS-1501)
