DONOVAN Sunshine Superman (Rare 1967 UK Second Issue 12-track mono LP on the blue & black Pye label, with A1/B1 matrices, 'Made In England' label credit, housed in a front laminated flipback picture sleeve with pinched spine printed by Garrod& Lofthouse. Only having seen this album on this label type ever once before recently this copy is all the more scarce partly due to the vinyl showing only light evidence of play with only a few light hairlines and minimal spindle marks confirminglight, careful play but it's the condition of the package overall that makes it special. The sleeve on this copy shows barely any wear other than a little ring marking through age but it still resides in a stickered open shrink wrap from new, now come the theories. We believe there's a high chance that given the previous one-time owner was posted in Germany with the forces and this copy was acquired in that location, there's a strong possibility this copy was exported and possibly to a military army base, while there are no military or promo stamps the sticker implies a unique source along with the shrink which would otherwise not occur for a UK release from this time, quite possibly exclusive to military. This fact remains uncertain but nevertheless a copy remaining in such nice condition presented in this way would be extremely hard to replace! NPL18181) more...
