METAL URBAIN Anthologie 1977-1979 (2008 French pressed UK issue
limited edition 40-track 3-CD album set, compiling the complete
released output from this legendary synth-punk French band
[including later incarnations Dr Mix & The Remix and Metal Boys],
originally released between May 1977 and October 1979; the set is
divided into 3 sections - 'Panik' [Metal Urbain, 1977-78], 'Wall Of
Noise' [the legendary Dr Mix & the Remix album from 1979] and
'Sweet Marilyn' [Metal Boys, 1979]; each CD features bonus
recordings and is presented in a card wallet sleeve - the set is
then housed in a deluxe hinged lid card box with fold-out double sided
poster featuring a repro of the original trade ad for their 1st single
'Panik', plus lyrics and bio in French!)

1981 UK 17-track Byzz label LP distributed by Rough Trade. This
compilation compiles their three 7" sings along with other previously
unreleased studio recordings including Hystérie Connective and Atlantis
which do not appear of the French release. The sleeve on this copy
has some minor storage marks with the vinyl in superb near mint

single, by the pioneering Synth Punk outfit [one of the first
punk acts to combine the drum machine with guitars & synths,
also the first band to release a 45 on Rough Trade]. Includes
theb-side 'Lady Coca Cola', unique picture sleeve. The sleeve
is Excellent with just a spot of sticker residue, the vinyl is in
Very Good condition with some cosmetic scuffs not affecting

Trade label solid centre 7" vinyl single, also including 'Cle De
Contact'. This killer slice of French synthpunk was the first
ever Rough Trade release, Metal Urbain were similar to
Germany's DAF and a clear influence on the likes of Steve Albini's
Big Black. The paper picture sleeve has a little shelfwear evident
to the opening edge as well as a small spot of sticker
discolouration to the front while the vinyl remains inEX condition
with only light signs of play RT001)
