The fully laminated scalloped flipback picture sleeve is showing a little of its fifty years withsome light creasing, a couple of minor tears to the back flips & some laminate split at the edges but the vinyl is amazing with just a couple of cosmetic marks to indicate its history. RUSS PROCOPE The Persuasive Sax Of Russ Procope (Rare 1956 UK pair of 'Factory Sample' custom white label single sided discs for the 14-track mono LP featuring the Alto Sax of Russ Procope, who learned his chops in the amazing Fletcher HendersonOrchestra. On this outing as leader, Russ is joined by Remo Biondi on Rhythm Guitar, Earl Backus on Solo Guitar, Paul Jordan on Piano, Mel Schmidt on Bass & Frank Rullo on Drums in a session recorded in Hollywood by Dot. The labels are stampedwith the title & artist then hand annotated and were used to send out for review copies before the final pressings were complete. This pair actually comes with the fully laminated scalloped flipback picture sleeve of the retail issue & the discs were probably crammed in there before being sent out for review as the sleeve itself is quite distressed and is offered here as a bonus. The solid single sided vinyl still manages to remain in VG+/EX- condition with just a few light surface scuffs to show for its years. Not too shabby for a fifty five year old.
