| LED ZEPPELIN Led Zeppelin II (1970 UK third press 9-track
vinyl LP on the plum & red label, with Lemon Song credited as
Killing Floor on the label, first design lighter gatefold picture
sleeve) See 'More Info' ... #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: More Information
This was the second studio album, released on the 22nd October 1969. The first issue label features 'The Lemon Song' title, but following a claim of plagiarism levelled at Led Zeppelin [shock, horror!], this song had to be renamed to 'Killing Floor' and also credited to Chester Burnett. The Polydor press sleeves are a lighter brown in colour. The sleeve also credits 'The Lemon Song' and this was not changed for later issues.
The labels now list 'Warner Bros' & 'Jewel Music' publishing credits and 'Produced by Jimmy Page' has now moved to the top of the label under the title.
This third issue has corrected the 'Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's A Woman)' error of the second issue and now reads 'Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just A Woman)', which is now correct.
'Thank You' is now two words.
The Side Two composer credits for Heartbreaker & Moby Dick now list 'Baldwin' instead of 'Jones'.
Condition
The sleeves for the early issues are known for being easily damaged & worn and this one is no exception, with a degree of edge scuffing and a few light scuffs but believe me I've seen a lot worse. It's complete, intact with no rips or splits.
The vinyl, while obviously played, has retained its sheen & has been very well looked after. There are just a few faint scuffs to both sides which has no real impact to play EX/VG+.
A very, very nice copy of this fantastic album.
