for Paolo Cavara's 1971 Italian giallo film. Ennio Morricone's
score is equally frightening, though you wouldn't immediately
believe it. The initial melodies of the score conjure up
memories of the hits of Serge Gainsbourg, with an upbeat
keyboard riff mixed with the breathy and seductive vocals of
Edda Dell'Orso, and some jazz fusion along the way. The
425gsm printed gatefold picture sleeve comes with its
barcoded / printed obi. Both sleeve and vinyl reveal minimal

With music by one of cinema’s greatest composers, Ennio Morricone, Paolo Cavara’s LA TARANTOLA DAL VENTRE NERO (BLACK BELLY OF THE TARANTULA) is considered one of the best gialli ever made. Starring celebrated genre actor Giancarlo Giannini, the terrifying film is about a homicide detective hunting down a psychotic killer who has been paralyzing and slaughtering women just as the deadly Pepsis grossa – the Tarantula Hawk wasp – does to its own eight-legged prey.
Ennio Morricone’s score is equally frightening, though you wouldn’t immediately believe it. The initial melodies of the score conjure up memories of the hits of Serge Gainsbourg, with an upbeat keyboard riff mixed with the breathy and seductive vocals of Edda Dell’Orso, and some jazz fusion along the way. From there things start to spiral and spiral into the unknown, with disquieting atonal sounds, creepy insectoid strings, and stabbing percussion. The mix of unhinged piano and drums feels like the buzzing of the wasp, and the music gets so uncomfortable you feel paralyzed – with fear – and that’s when the terror truly begins. Such is the power of maestro Morricone and BLACK BELLY OF THE TARANTULA.

Japanese 4-track 12" vinyl EP including Women In Uniform plus live
versions of Sanctuary, Phantom Of The Opera and Drifter, recorded at
London's legendary Marquee Club in July 1980, picture sleeve with
Japanese text biography / lyric insert. The sleeve displays minimal
wear, both labels have some writing in black marker (unsure exactly
what it says but is not in Japanese, maybe by one of the band
members) whilst the vinyl shows little lights of play. As mentioned,
this has been fully signed by Steve Harris, Dave Murray,
Adrian Smith and the late Clive Burr & Paul Di'Anno, all across the
front in a black pen. The signatures were acquired whilst the band
were on tour in Japan, May 1981, four months later Paul was sacked
from the band. An unbelievable item, made even more so by the fact
that Clive & Paul are sadly no longer with us, this is just screaming to
be framed & displayed)

Radio'. The picture sleeve has the censored 'Dewei
Defeats Truman' headline on the newspaper & shows some
minor edge/shelf wear complete with the picture/ lyric inner,
the vinyl is clean & in Excellent condition with just a few faint
paper scuffs not affecting play)
