A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...
 | JIMI HENDRIX Axis: Bold As Love (Rare original 1967 first UK
issue 13-track Track Records STEREO vinyl LP with A1/B1
matrix numbers & the all important rarely seen orange lyric
insert E.J Day printed front laminated internal flipback
gatefoldpicture sleeve) See more info for further info on
condition... #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting:
Both mono and stereo mixes of Jimi's first two albums were made by Jimi, Chas Chandler, and Eddie Kramer at Olympic Studios in 1967.
Final stereo mixing for the album was done on October 31, 1967 and November 1, 1967.
The gatefold sleeve has JUST some minor wear/chipping mostly on the corners & opening edge but has tight and crisp laminate with bright panels no blemishes to the print.
The vinyl has been played a few times and is strictly graded VG/EX-, with a few noticeable surface scuffs and the occasional light scratch/mark & the black & silver Track labels reveals a few spindle marks. We have play tested and can confirm that apart from the odd crackle and general sound of vinyl, there is no major deterioration in sound quality and sounds excellent
The orange insert shows only minor evidence of storage to reveal its age and is free of rips, tears or blemishes, remaing in excellent condition and looks to have been kept and well-preserved inside its sleeve, a superb example.
Clean copies of this album are becoming increasingly hard to find, and although this is far from perfect it is still a very respectable complete copy of this 1967 Stereo original.

The colours in the sleeve design remain rich & vivid, for what surely must be one of the best psychedelic artworks of the late sixties, British or otherwise. All text is clearly legible, including John Peel's glowing notes. The flipbacks are secure with just a bit of scuffing to one of its corners. Apart from some soft ring wear, which is unavoidable, there is only a bit of faint discolouring around the edges. The reverse has light discolouration which does nothing to obscure or compromise the text, whilst the insert displays very little of its age, with no real discolouration and the edges & corners all sharp - this is the start of a very pleasing package.
For completeness sake, the matrices in the run-outs read:
XCARX 43-1G
XCARX 44-1G
The heavyweight vinyl has been given a deep cleanse, to reveal just a handful of light hairline scuffs & a small area of cosmetic wear due to a chemical reaction with the inner to both sides, which is quite common for records of this vintage. Play testing confirms low levels of ambient noise in places with no loud pops or skips. We have graded this original copy VG+ to be on the safe side. Playback quality is immense & it would make a lovely addition to any Psych collection. |
