for further details and condition on this superb collectable... #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: Both mono and stereo mixes of Jimi's first two albums were made by Jimi, Chas Chandler, and Eddie Kramer at Olympic Studios in 1967.
Final stereo mixing for the album was done on October 31, 1967 and November 1, 1967. Chandler and Kramer completed a mono mix of the album on November 2, 1967.
There are noticable differences between the two mixes that make this MONO version extremely special to collectors :
EXP is shorter without the extended feedback at the end and the vocals are louder.
Castles Made of Sand features a different vocal performance.
One Rainy Wish has a slightly different ending.
There are other subtle differences too across the entire album as a result of the separate mixing to mono as opposed to merely combining the stereo tracks.

Condition : -
Obtained from its one previous owner, the sleeve remains in Very Good condition with no writing or tearing. The flipbacks inside are secure & there there is just some gentiel laminate age scuffing or ring wear. With age, a little faint foxing is revealed on the inside & a tiny spot of discolouring to the bottom right corner. The colours remain rich & vivid & all text remains clearly legible.
The glossy orange lyric insert is in Very Good condition with the images bright & vibrant & the lyrics perfectly legible, showing some mild corner creasing commensurate with use & free from any tears.
The vinyl has been professionally cleaned on a top of the line Matrix machine. The vinyl reveals some hairlines & scuff marks which have very little effect on play, thanks to the quality of sixties vinyl pressings from this period. The mono playback does not stray & the album sounds fantastic, as well it should. Also has a light crackle sound when being played. This is a nice example to match the condition of the sleeve & a pleasing one owner copy overall. |
