A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...
| BLACK SABBATH Master Of Reality (Rare 1971 UK first
pressing 8-track vinyl LP on an inverted black 'swirl' label,
with machine stamped 1Y1/2Y1 matrices & an inverted 'swirl'
die-cut inner, fully laminated & embossed box picture sleeve
completewith the incredibly rare fold-out poster. See 'More
Info' for condition details...) #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: The third album by the English heavy metal band, released on the 21st July 1971 and credited as the foundation of doom, stoner and sludge metal. Certified double platinum after having sold over two million copies.
The matrix numbers indicate that this copy was among the first pressed:
SIDE A - 1 Y // 1 V 420
SIDE B - 2 Y // 1 V 420
Condition
The laminated box sleeve has a top opening and was manufactured and printed by Howards Printers Ltd. These are usually found in poor condition due to the design. This copy has some natural lift/peeling to the laminate along the edges & just some faint crease marks around the edges/corners. A nice EX copy.
The labels are the one-off 'reversed' swirl design with black background & white text, with the small swirl logo & 'VERTIGO' text above the spindle. The labels are clean with no writing & very little sign of any play by the spindle hole.
The vinyl easily grades Excellent. There is the tiniest glimpse of axial wear, but after professional cleaning, this is really only evident under closer inspection.
The reversed 'swirl' inner completes the package & is a nice clean example.
Now we come on to the rarest part of this pressing, the POSTER. Printed on the slightly thicker stock paper and with a matt finish not glossy. This example has been stored unused in the sleeve with barely any sign of wear and would be very hard to beat!

| KALEIDOSCOPE Tangerine Dream (Extremely Rare
1967 UK first issue 11-track MONO vinyl LP on the black &
silver Fontana label - Not to be confused with the German
electro band, this debut album from the band who later
changed their name to Fairfield Parlour is now regarded as a
classic in the Psychedelic genre, ranking alongside Nirvana
[UK]'s The Story of Simon Simopath and Pink Floyd's The
Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, although it sold very little at the
time. This is the first copy of this legendary Psychedelic gem
that we have ever stocked and it remains in spectacular
condition compared to most that are seen. The non-laminated
flipback picture sleeve shows a suitably groovy image of the
band with sleeve notes provided by lead singer Peter Daltrey
on the reverse. TL5448) Please see 'More Info' ...
Tracklisting: This was their debut album, released by Fontana on 24th November 1967.
Personnel:
Peter Daltrey – Vocals & Keyboards
Eddy Pumer – Guitar & Keyboards
Steve Clark – Bass & Flute
Dan Bridgman – Drums & Percussion
Condition:
The sleeve is not laminated, which means that it is normally found with considerable shelfwear & edge scuffing. Not so in this case.
The reverse of the sleeve shows light discolouration with the original price inked in the top left corner
The front of the sleeve has a small area of print fade to the top and a 1cm tear to the opening edge close to the top, otherwise the colours are still bright and suitably psychedelic.
The spine is clearly legible and such shelfwear that there is remains confined to a little scuffing at the corners.
The vinyl is in wonderful condition, with little sign of play to side one and just a handfull of hairline scuffs to side two leaving it EX/EX-. A great copy with clean labels pointing to limited play.
It is also in MONO, the way it was designed to be heard. |
