Madonna - X-STaTIC Pro=CeSS (Exceptionally rare 2003 Italian printed numbered limited edition art book signed by Steven Klein. Limited to just 1000 hand-numberedcopies. This edition is presented in a flocked, brushed-cotton paper slipcase and printed on delicate custom tissue-textured stock, hand-signed in black marker by Steven Klein on the outer slipcase and numbered 348/1000, please see below for more information....

Tracklisting: Key Features: Publisher: Callaway / Steven Klein Gallery (Italy, 2003) Limited Edition: Hand-numbered /1000 copies Signed By: Steven Klein, boldly in black marker on slipcase Binding: Hand-bound art book Pages: 260 full-colour images Paper Stock: Custom tissue-textured art paper Slipcase: Brushed flocked finish with custom blocking Dimensions: Approx. 30 x 21 x 3 cm Condition: Excellent condition with no loose pages and clean outer cover. The perforated top edge has been removed carefully to allow access to the book. Book Description: Madonna presents herself as "a performer in a landscape where she creates and brings her ideas to life or death." Steven Klein's intention was to work with Madonna as a performance artist, creating a situation where she could respond directly to the camera without constraint. The project is not about photography of celebrity, but about the person and the passions beneath the surface. Klein sees Madonna as a messenger, asking people to wake up and confront the dehumanizing forces in the contemporary world. Rather than the packaged glamour that one might expect from the collaboration of a pop star and a top fashion photographer, the work is raw and menacing. The spirit is apocalyptic. Madonna and Steven Klein enter into a subconscious realm of primitive fears and desires. The work has a religious passion and a sexual charge. The theatricality increases with the intensity of the emotions.
