#Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Tracklisting: Background & Condition :- The album was released on 5th August 1967 in mono and one month later it was released in stereo. The album's name comes from the title of the seventh chapter of Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows'! There are significant differences between the stereo & mono mixes. Subtle changes in effects abound, moment to moment gradations that can alter the flow of an entire track. For example, Syd Barrett's whoops and shouts on 'Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk'. The coda of 'Flaming' is longer than on the mono version, as is 'The Gnome'. 'Interstellar Overdrive' is without the bongo fadeout of the mono mix and there are seriously different parts in 'Pow R Toch H'. The Sleeve :- The Ernest J. Day & Co. sleeve is dated 6709, with the second variant 'File Under POPULAR: Pop Groups' text on the top flipback. The sleeve shows the lightest of laminate creases to the edges while the reverse side shows minimal age yellowing to the the unlaminated area. The Label :- The labels are the desirable blue & black variety, with 'Sold In UK' & 'Gramophone Co' label text and show some light spindle wear. The matrix numbers read : YAX 3419-1 On Side One YAX 3420-1 On Side Two The Disc :- The vinyl is in EX condition with only the lightest signs of play showing minimal signs of its FIFTY plus years. Highly recommended! Tracklisting :- A1. Astronomy Domine A2. Lucifer Sam A3. Matilda Mother A4. Flaming A5. Pow R. Toc H. A6. Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk B1. Interstellar Overdrive B2. The Gnome B3. Chapter 24 B4. The Scarecrow B5. Bike
