A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...
 | MILES DAVIS Kind Of Blue (2010 UK/EU limited edition
7-track remastered double album 2-LP edition of his
legendary 1959 album, pressed on audiophile quality
180-gram Heavyweight Vinyl. Expanded with bonus
recordings of Flamenco Sketches[Alternate Take] and On
Green Dolphin Street. Gatefold picture sleeve with liner notes
by Francis Davis, large gold hype sticker & resealable outer.
Essential) #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: So much has been said and written about Miles Davis' Kind Of Blue, it's virtually impossible to summarize all the necessary info to the length of this page. We could simply list some facts (best sold Jazz album ever worldwide). We could try to explain why it's the best Jazz album ever made, but the music itself will do that to you.
As Bill Evans said in the original liner notes for the record, the band did not play through any of these pieces prior to recording. Miles Davis laid out the themes before the tape rolled and the band improvised. The end results were fragile and wondrous. Recorded during 2 sessions in 1959, Kind of Blue worked on many different levels and will do so for many years to come.
We're proud to announce a very special version of the most influential (Jazz) album ever. We present the original album in remastered form plus an extra LP containing 2 tracks that weren't available on vinyl before (an alternate take of "Flamenco Sketches" and a version of "On Green Dolphin Street" recorded prior to the Kind of Blue sessions, with the legendary line-up of Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb.)
We've graced this first-time-ever 2LP edition of this musical masterpiece with a gatefold sleeve with additional liner notes.

 | JIMI HENDRIX Are You Experienced (Rare 1967 UK first
pressing 11-track MONO vinyl LP with A1/B1
matrices, front laminated Ernest J. Day picture sleeve. See
'more info' for further details... #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: As emblematic of its time as of its sorcerer-like creator, 1967's Are You Experienced? unleashed Jimi Hendrix onto a world in the midst of such cultural and musical shake-ups that it really didn't seem as 'far out' as it actually was.
It wasn't just Hendrix's virtuosic skill as a pure player that was so impressive, it was even more the range and scope of sheer sound that he coaxed, cajoled and ripped out of his instrument. His songs filled ears with indelible sonic images and songs like 'Foxy Lady' and '3rd Stone From The Sun' pointed the way toward a new brand of rock-charged soul music.
Tracklisting
01. Foxy Lady
02. Manic Depression
03. Red House
04. Can You See Me
05. Love Or Confusion
06. I Don't Live Today

Condition
Housed in the original Ernest J Day manufactured front laminated picture sleeve, the cover appears EX with no writing or tears. There is a small spot of some edge scuffing on the top edge & minor scuffing to the laminate including some small creases to the top edge; the colours are still vivid with minimal discolouring to the back panel. A very nice example.
The labels are black with silver print & large Track Record logo at the top. There is some spindle marks visible around the centre although the labels remain bright & clean with no writing or tears.
The matrix numbers end A-1/B-1 indicating that this copy was one of the first pressed. They are as follows
Side One 612001 A1
Side Two 612001 B1
The vinyl has been professionally cleaned. On first listen, we were startled at just how different this original mono mix sounds. Visually, the vinyl reveals the odd scuff but nothing deep enough to affect play, and thanks to the quality of sixties vinyl pressings from this period, the mono playback does not stray, and these marks remain purely cosmetic. All be told, a very healthy, conservatively graded Excellent (VG++) copy. |
