 | THE ROLLING STONES The Rolling Stones No. 2 (1965 UK
second issue 12-track MONO vinyl LP on the deep groove red
label with unboxed Decca and ffrr logos, housed in the front
laminated picture sleeve with the clasis David Bailey cover,
with flipbacks & has the original offending 'blind man' wording
in Andrew Loog Oldham's album notes, which caused uproar at
the time & was even raised in Parliament! This text was
subsequently pasted over & then re-printed altogether. See
below for further details on this sixty year old gem! LK4661)
Tracklisting: The group's second British album actually appeared after their second U.S. LP, mostly owing to the fact that the British rock & roll audience wasn't focused on the long-player as a medium (singles and EPs were the driving force of the business in England then).
It uses the same David Bailey cover shot that had graced the U.S issued '12 X 5' album two months earlier, but only four songs (Under The Boardwalk, Suzie Q, Grown Up Wrong and Time Is On My Side) overlap on the two albums.
Rather, Rolling Stones No. 2 offered seven songs that weren't to make it out in America until four months later on 'The Rolling Stones Now!' It also includes one of the group's best blues covers, their version of Muddy Waters' I Can't Be Satisfied, which wasn't released in America until 1973 and features some killer slide playing by Brian Jones. The U.K. LP was originally released in mono only.
The original cover design carried sleeve notes that included the text: "If you don’t have bread, see that blind man, knock him on the head, steal his wallet and low and behold you have the loot, if you put in the boot, good, another one sold!"
Not one of Mr Loog Oldham's wisest lyrical outpourings and they naturally caused uproar in January 1965, even to the extent of being debated in the UK Parliament. This was a bit too much for Decca and an alternate version of the back artwork was hastily prepared & the few they had left in the factories were overpasted with the new artwork. Most first issue sleeves continued to carry the text as they were already in the shops.
The labels are red with unboxed or open Decca logo and ffrr 'ear' logo. The Side numbers are close to the right hand side of the spindle hole. BIEM and NCB are boxed on the right just under the cat. number; all song titles are serif (caps) with songwriters in italics. MADE IN ENGLAND - THE DECCA RECORD COMPANY is at the top of the label.
The matrix numbers are machine stamped into the 'dead wax' areas. They are as follows:
Side One XARL-6619-2A
Side Two XARL-6620-2A
The vinyl is in astonishing condition with no obvious signs of play. Despite now being over fifty-five years old this classic album has retained its shine - no mean feat for an item of this age.
The sleeve is also amazing - merely a glimpse or two of the lightest ringwear, light creasing and a smidgen of laminate lift to corner. All edges and corners are sharp, the spine print clearly legible. The rear of the non-flipback picture sleeve is usually prone to excessive discolouration, however this one has no such defect. The bottom of the spine shows a vintage sticker from Harvey Records in Forest Gate - only adding to the overall vintage vibe of this rarity.
Mint and near mint Stones originals are becoming increasingly difficult to find, more so than Beatles first issues. Their value has rocketed in recent years and shows no sign of slowing. This would make a great investment or worthy addition to any serious collection!

 | BLUR Think Tank (UK/EU limited edition 13-track double
album 2-LP, remastered and pressed on 180-gram black vinyl.
A welcome reissue of their acclaimed 2003 album featuring
the singles Out Of Time, Crazy Beat and Good Song, but also
notable for its album cover artwork stenciled by renowned
graffiti artist Banksy. Gatefold picture sleeve with
hype sticker, factory sealed. Play it and display it...!)
Tracklisting: Think Tank is the seventh studio album by the English rock band Blur, released in May 2003. Jettisoning the Britpop sound of Blur’s early career as well as the lo-fi indie rock of Blur (1997), Think Tank continued the jam-based studio constructions of the group’s previous album, 13 (1999). The album expanded on the use of sampled rhythm loops and brooding, heavy electronic sounds.
Blur's Think Tank has now been expanded across two discs, cut on heavyweight 180 gram, audiophile vinyl and housed in a replica of the original sleeve artwork.
