SIXTO RODRIGUEZ Cold Fact (Rare Folk-Psych 1974 South African 12-track stereo LP on the tan Sussex label, a cult classic from the Detroit based artist which sadly bombed in the States. Rodriguez went on to enjoy a complete career revival, mainly due to his huge success in South Africa [as documented in the 2012 film 'Searching For Sugar Man'] which, pre-internet, was kept quiet from him with not a penny's worth of sales going his way [it was also said that he hoaxed his own suicide onstage!]. This is a brilliant snapshot of those post-Dylan semi-psych protest song times & deserving of a much wider audience. Comes housed in a front laminated lyric sleeve with psychedelic black background image. The delicate cover is Very Good with some natural ring wear creases [tiny half inch split in back opening], the odd scuff in a corner & minor lift to the laminate along the spine. There is no writing & all print remains legible. The vinyl is nice & clean & grades EX/EX- with the odd spindle mark & faint paper hairline not affecting play. A must own! SXBS7000)
