BURUNDI BLACK Burundi Black (1978 UK issue of the 1971 7" single [Parts 1 & 2] with four-prong centre, reissued for the New Wave era. French artist Michel Bernholc used the pseudonym Mike Steiphenson to adapt an old field recording of drummers from Burundi’smusical ensemble Ingoma Tribe, remixing it for the Disco crowd. Malcolm McLaren loved it, Adam Ant sampled it & Bow Wow Wow, Slits, PiL & Siouxie & The Banshees all led the wave of the Burundi post-punk beat! The vinyl is excellent, housed in a plain die-cut sleeve BAR708)
