MOTHERS OF INVENTION Total Music Theatre (Amazing 1968 German
original 33" x 47" full colour poster for their concert at Deutsches
Museum Kongressaal in Munich on 29th October. There is some doubt
as to whether the gig ever took place! This superb item has 'Mothers
Of Invention' at the top in grey with FZ's name in the middle in green &
consists of a selection of medieval style caricatures. The only other info
on the poster is the text 'Total Music Theatre' on the top hat of one
character, the name of the promoters & 'Design: Keiser'.Apart from a couple of small nicks to the edges, this example remains in a fantastic condition with little signs of age, and has been stored rolled for many years, having never been displayed!)

THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION Trouble Comin' Every Day (It's not
often that I describe something with a price tag like this as a bargain,
but this is a bargain. A long long time ago, Uncle Frank & The Mothers
released one of only two Verve singles in Japan. This one, with sleeve
dated 'TO 6711' [Nov 67 Tokyo] was the first and has since become
one of the rarest Frank Zappa official releases in the world. Taken
from the recently released 'Freak Out' album, this wide centred 7" is
backed by Who AreThe Brain Police? A jolly civil rights themed
package all round. What makes this extra special is that the title track
is the 2:33 single edit, rather than the 5:53 album version. Sometimes
these are found as fairly tatty copies but even then you still have to
pay a small fortune for them. This copy is first & foremost a stock
copy. Secondly, it is complete with the seldom seen lyric insert.
Thirdly, the thin silk laminated flipback picture sleeve is untorn, free of
stickers, writing or any other significant blemish, with just a very, very
small amount of edge scuffing & a couple of areas of light age
yellowing on the back to show for the last forty five years. The
extremely thin lyric insert is also free from folds, stains, writing or any
tears. To cap it all, the vinyl is astonishing and remains in excellent
condition with almost no sign of play at all. A staggering copy of one
of the rarest FZ releases in the world, directly from a lost cave
somewhere in Japan to you. As I said at the start - A bargain -
because it is! DV-5010)

features 'Who Are the Brain Police?' & comes complete with a

with some faint paper hairline scuffs not affecting play. A superb
Zappa rarity! VK-10458)

commercial release on blue & silver Verve label. Also
features 'WhoAre the Brain Police?' & comes complete with a

hairline scuff with no real impact on play. Still sounding

THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION Trouble Comin' Every Day (A

of only two Verve singles in Japan. This one, with sleeve dated 'TO

rarest Frank Zappa official releases in the world. Taken from the
then-recently released 'Freak Out' album, this wide centred vinyl 7" also
includes 'Who Are The Brain Police?', a jolly civil rights themed package

What makes this extra special is that the title
track is the 2:33 Single Edit, rather than the 5:53 Album Version.
Sometimes these are found as fairly tatty copies but even then you still
have to pay a small fortune for them.
This rare example is a
stock copy and only the second that our Japanese buyer has ever
found. The thin silk laminated flipback picture sleeve is untorn, free of
stickers or writing. The pink lettering really stands out unblemished and
the unique design even sports a 'psychedelic' genre header in red, and
even comes complete with the original lyric insert often
missing.
We would grade the sleeve a very pleasing VG+
with just some minor foxing on the back not spoiling the print and
otherwise just the very lightest thumb crease from handling, the insert
is free of tears and also shows light creases from handling. The vinyl
has a deep sheen both sides and grades VG+/EX- with merely a few
faint paper hairlines not affecting play. A lovely copy of one of the
rarest FZ releases in the world! DV-5010)
