MILES DAVIS featuring SONNY ROLLINS Dig (1958 UK issue of
the 1956 5-track LP on the 'deep groove' Esquire label with
'RVG' etched into the dead wax, featuring a 1951 session that
also included a young Jackie McLean on Alto [at just 19],
Walter Bishop on Piano, Tommy Potter on Bass & Art Blakey
on Drums, front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve
has a little laminate chipping to the bottom seam, otherwise
shows just light discolouration to the unlaminated reverse,

MILES DAVIS Diggin' With The Miles Davis Sextet (2008 UK 5-track
LP pressed on 180gram VIRGIN VINYL - originally released
as the Prestige 10" 'Dig', it was later reissued as a 12" with additional
tracks. The 'Diggin'...' title comes from alater reissue, which was
supposed to fall in with the 'Cookin'', 'Steamin'', 'Workin'', etc. series.
This album actually has nothing to do with that later period, but it is a
still a very good representation of an early Miles at his best, forging
ahead with his own cool bop style. This sextet features Davis on
trumpet, a young Jackie McLean on alto sax [his debut recording],
Sonny Rollins on tenor sax, Walter Bishop Jr. on piano, Tommy Potter
or Charles Mingus on bass and Art Blakey on drums, sealed picture
sleeve)

MILES DAVIS SEXTET Diggin' (1963 French 5-track mono LP on a
blue semi-circle 'Nipper' label. This recording for Prestige was made in
October 1951 & also featured Sonny Rollins on Tenor, a nineteen year
old Jackie McLean on Alto, Walter Bishop Jr on Piano, Tommy Potter
on Bass & Art Blakey on Drums. The flipback picture sleeve is fully
laminated (although the laminate doesn't reach all the way to the edge
on the back) & the condition is as good as it gets for a French sleeve
of this vintage, with just a spot of mild corner wear. Despite a couple
of sticker tear marks on the labels, the vinyl is clean & grades
VG+/EX- with a deep sheen both sides & merely a few cosmetic scuffs
not interfering with play FELP10.003)
