 | SMALL FACES Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake (Very rare 1968 UK
first issue 12-track stereo vinyl LP on the lilac Immediate
label, circular fold-out picture sleeve. The fragile sleeve, so
often found ripped or torn is in incredible condition with cleanundamaged edges. The vinyl remains in EX condition with just
a couple of light surface scuffs & few signs of play to show for
its forty five years - a nice copy of this classic album!
IMSP012) See 'More Info' ...
Tracklisting: 1968 was a year of change for Immediate, as with some other labels, and they were moving from the Lilac to the more familiar Pink label just as this album was being pressed. Very few actually made it out of the factory with the lilac label and they are becoming increasingly hard to find in good condition.
Both Mono & Stereos exist on this label but most that you will find listed as a 'First' will have a Pink label, not a Lilac one. There is absolutely no difference to the vinyl, the matrices or even the label layout, just the label colour.
Here you have a true 'first'. Certainly one of the first batch pressed.
Whether these were pressed in advance to fulfil pre-orders or that was just the way the labels ran out, who knows. What is known is that there are very few of these Lilacs about and most were on the Pink label.
Tracklisting:
01. Ogden's Nut Gone Flake
02. Afterglow
03. Long Agos And Worlds Apart
04. Rene
05. Song Of A Baker
06. Lazy Sunday
07. Happiness Stan
08. Rollin' Over
09. The Hungry Intruder
10. The Journey
11. Mad John
12. Happydaystoytown |
 | QUATERMASS Quatermass (1970 UK first issue 9-track LP with 'The
Gramophone Co' label credit on the perimeter & no EMI logo, front
laminated gatefold sleeve with company inner. The sleeve is age worn
with obvious creasing & scuffing from storage, but nothing that
hinders the arresting Hipgnosis artwork. The vinyl fairs much better
with just light paper scuffs & spindle to indicate play. By no means
mint, this is a serviceable example & a nice collection filler at a
knockdown rate SHVL775)
Tracklisting: 1. Entropy
2. Black Sheep Of The Family
3. Post War Saturday Echo
4. Good Lord Knows
5. Up On The Ground
6. Gemini
7. Make Up your Mind
8. Laughin' Tackle
9. Entropy (Reprise) |
